I’d be happy to work with teachers on any of these topics: Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, Chemistry, Food Science, Physics, STEM, High School Research Projects, Participating in Science/Agriscience Fairs, Renewable Energy, Anatomy & Physiology

What about teaching excites you?

Teaching excites me when I can observe my students totally engrossed in learning…..and they don’t realize it. I treasure these moments. My challenge as a teacher is to create lessons that provide these moments for my students to experience.

What was your “aha” moment when you realized the value of using agriculture as a vehicle to teach science?

I’ve had the opportunity to work in several school systems with great agricultural science departments. I always gain a wealth of knowledge on various science topics as I work with the agriculture instructor on topics such as soil science, the macronutrient and micronutrient requirements of specific crops, and the unique digestive systems of various livestock. I realized very quickly that everything about agriculture is SCIENCE! Agriculture provides the real-world connection to demonstrate the application of so many scientific principles covering a vast array of science topics such as botany, zoology, environmental science, geology, chemistry, physics, and engineering…and the list goes on!
