Experiment checks influence of GM feed on Japanese quails

Researchers investigated the effects of genetically modified feed on ten generations of Japanese quail chicks. The experimental groups were fed GM soy and non-GM maize, GM maize and non-GM soy, or both non-GM soy and maize. Some differences were found, but none were judged a negative influence of GM feed in the birds or final consumer products. IN fact, the meat from the GM soy group showed higher protein and lower fat levels compared to the control group.
