ChickQuest allowed the students in my classroom to experience something that they would have never experienced. My students are inner city kids; some never even knew what a chicken looked like let alone what a baby chick looked like or how they were born! There are approximately 128 students in our school and everyone of them were involved in this process. I had students and staff come in at various times of the day to just check the progress of the eggs or the chicks once they hatched. Stopping in the hall in the morning to check the growth progress was the highlight of the students’ day as they went to their homeroom.
The excitement of all involved was amazing and made the workshop time well spent!
