Why do you focus on real-world problems in your classroom?

I love finding new ways to connect my core science content with what is happening in Ohio and the world. I came to teaching after working in the industry, so it’s always been important to me that my students understand topics that are being tackled by government and industry worldwide. By incorporating these themes in my curriculum, I feel like I’m better preparing them for the workforce.
