Greg LaBarge
Field Specialist, Agronomic Systems at The Ohio State University Extension
I work in Ohio in crop production especially corn, soybean and wheat. Since 2012, I have been heavily involved in nutrient management as it relates to crop production and water quality impacts with Ohio State University Extension. The overall goal of my programming is to increase farm profitability as a means to strengthen Ohio’s economy.
What is the benefit of collaboration between industry and education?
Industry can bring the real-world experiences to education that bring lessons to life. Education has the touch with their audience that can help mold the message so it is well received by the intended audience.
What value/assistance can you and your company provide to teachers and classrooms as they connect with you?
I am willing to help with content and materials to bring agriculture and crops production into classroom situations which can complement STEM type learning. We can do remote sessions and possibly in class based on travel location of your class.
Why should teachers connect with you through GrowNextGen?
I have been working in crop production since 1987 working in Fulton County, Ohio for 25 of those years interacting with farmer and youth on agriculture and specifically crop production, economics and leadership.
