What about teaching excites you?

I enjoy helping students experience the connection between science in a book and the real world.

What was your “aha” moment when you realized the value of using agriculture as a vehicle to teach science?

When I encountered real-world examples that can be used to help teach concepts or ideas that may seem abstract.

How do you help students make the industry or real-world connection to what they’re learning?

I ask students to work on projects to help them connect what we are learning to their own life experiences.
