What about teaching excites you?
I live for the little “A-HA” and “lightbulb” moments with my students. I love to see them smile when they finally realize how to do something that they have been struggling with. Students coming out of their shell and trying things that they previously wouldn’t even think about doing. Student growth excites me.
What was your “aha” moment when you realized the value of using agriculture as a vehicle to teach science?
While I was sitting in one of the PDs, I realized that even though I was learning about agriculture, I could use the activities in both my biology class and some of my math classes. Biology is the study of life and soybeans are living too! Plus it helps students get an idea of where their food comes from and what other things they use on a daily basis are plant based, which is something that many students do not know.
