What is the benefit of collaboration between industry and education?
The collaboration between industry and education is critically important. Education does not end at graduation from formal education; it’s just the beginning. Industry affords students an opportunity to put what they have learned in the academic setting to practical use. It also affords them a hands-on experience and will allow them to bring their fresh ideas and creativity to industry. This becomes a win-win both for the student and greater community at large.
What value/assistance can you and your company provide to teachers and classrooms as they connect with you?
Our farm offers a very unique educational experience. Visitors can experience urban farming activities including composting, fish farming, worm composting, hoop house construction, alternative energy systems, cooking classes and water management. Additionally, we have a full-scale Native American tee-pee and a full-scale tree house. Our educational and training activities are suited to pre-schoolers, seniors citizens and all ages in between. Activities can include, but are not limited to STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) curriculum and arts and entertainment. Visitors can experience hands-on activities in all of the above-mentioned activities.
