What about teaching excites you?
The excitement I find in teaching comes from helping my students feel loved, respected, valued, and empowered. I cherish building authentic relationships with my students and helping them realize that their individual talents, passions, and ideas make a difference in our classroom and in the world around them.

What was your “aha” moment when you realized the value of using agriculture as a vehicle to teach science?
The moment I realized the value of using agriculture as a vehicle to teach science was at a teacher professional development workshop! Learning about all of the ways that agriculture is infused, intertwined, and a part of everyday science (and everyday life) was incredibly eye-opening. Including agriculture in my science lessons has given me an opportunity to develop problem solving skills in my students in a relevant, authentic, unique, and tangible manner!
