ChickQuest in a chilly season

32 dedicated educators braved single-digit temperatures to attend a recent ChickQuest workshop in Columbus. This program, combining engaging STEM lessons with the opportunity (and supplies!) to hatch chicks in the classroom, is so popular that some participants drove from more than 2 hours away.

It’s a great time to get trained for this program, since we’ve been adding some great additional resources to our site: two elementary-level e-learning courses, Structure and function of eggs and Life cycle of chickens. We’ve also got a Chickquest primer and several great project-based lessons.

If you’re an elementary teacher or extension agent and you haven’t been to a ChickQuest workshop, you owe it to yourself and your students to check it out! We’ve got several events coming up: one in Akron in March, and two others in Columbus, in August (no sub needed!) and September.
