ChickQuest learning

Third grade teacher Tracy Germann at Saint Rose Catholic School was one of the 50 teachers who received ChickQuest student logbooks and an egg coupon thanks to the generosity of the Ohio Soybean Council and GrowNextGen. Her students are enjoying the program’s STEM activities that help them explore and learn:

“They are so excited about the eggs! They asked if the shell matches the color of the chick’s feathers, so we talked about heredity today; that was an interesting conversation. They were surprised today that the eggs were heavier than they thought. They loved the parts of the egg and filling out the diagram, and they were especially intrigued by the chalazee and how it holds the yolk in place. Thanks for this opportunity!”
