Fish feeding engineering fun

Students in the PAST Foundation’s Innovators Club tackled an engineering problem: design a more efficient fish feeder! This activity is part of the 4-H Aquaculture Challenge. To improve the efficiency of hand feeding fish and to optimize the distribution of food in tanks so that all fish achieve a more balanced rate of gain, participants are tasked with engineering a prototype that evenly distributes a ration of soy-based fish pellets across the surface of the tank.

Ohio Soybean Council outreach ambassadors facilitated the challenge for about nine students at the PAST Foundation.
