New AFNR units coming soon!
GrowNextGen teacher leaders and agriscience teachers Courtney Bockbrader, Meredith Wolfe, and Whitney Short are developing new units for classroom teachers. These units are part of the Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources course, the first course students take upon entering an agricultural education program. The state has just revised standards for this course, so this is a great time to introduce biotechnology and science-based labs into the classroom.
- Food Science
- Animal Science
- Plant & Horticulture Science
- Natural Resources
Courtney Bockbrader and Meredith Wolfe hosted a workshop at the Summer Agriculture Teachers Conference where they introduced many of the labs so that teachers had experience conducting the labs themselves. Wolfe said, “We want to show teachers that they can easily incorporate science and labs into their classroom!”
These units will be available this fall at grownextgen.org.
