100 first graders from Reynoldsburg City Schools spent the day at Waterman Agricultural and Natural Resources Laboratory recently. While there, the students:
- made soy ink
- did a taste test comparing almond milk, soy milk, and cow milk
- made a cow craft and soybean seed necklaces
- played games
- observed a bee colony
- went on a hay ride
- picked apples
According to GrowNextGen outreach leader Shaye Creamer, the kids had lots of fun. Creamer said, “The teachers really loved that the kids had a lot of hands-on activities to do, and the students really enjoyed picking apples on the hay ride!”
